A Three-Location Wedding Full of Heart
Another wedding, another completely unique story - and this one was a beautiful reminder that when you trust your vision, magic really does follow. Kayleigh reached out to book full-day coverage and casually mentioned that the day would span three different locations. And honestly? Every single move was worth it.
Morning Preparations at The Crab & Boar, Newbury
The day began at The Crab & Boar, a charming countryside inn just outside Newbury. With its rustic interiors, warm tones, and intimate feel, it was the perfect choice for a smaller bridal party. Kayleigh chose to spend her morning with just her mum and sister - keeping things calm, personal, and beautifully unhurried.
The space itself felt cosy and relaxed, setting the tone for a gentle, meaningful morning. Kayleigh was wonderfully chilled (thanks, she said, to very little sleep the night before!) and joked that she didn’t quite feel bridal yet. But as soon as the dress went on, the reality of the day hit - nerves, excitement, emotion - all perfectly normal and all part of the experience. A quick pep talk, a deep breath, and we were ready.
A Historic Ceremony at Shaw House
From there, we jumped into the cars and headed to Shaw House, where the ceremony took place - and what a location it is. This stunning Elizabethan manor house, steeped in history, sits just outside Newbury and is known for its beautiful Tudor architecture, grand rooms, and timeless character.
The venue complemented the morning location perfectly - rustic, historic, and full of atmosphere. This is where I met Peter, quietly nervous (as most grooms are), but absolutely glowing as he waited to see Kayleigh walk down the aisle.
The ceremony itself was heartfelt and personal, filled with laughter, emotion, and more than a few happy tears. It felt deeply them - intimate, meaningful, and honest.
Afterwards, guests gathered outside Shaw House for confetti, followed by family portraits and some truly stunning couple shots around the grounds. The textures, light, and historic backdrop gave us images that felt elegant and timeless.
A Reception With a Surprise Twist
Our final stop of the day was Newbury Rugby Football Club - and if that doesn’t sound wedding-worthy at first, trust me, it absolutely was. The décor transformed the space completely. Thoughtful styling, rustic details, and plenty of room for guests proved that with the right vision, any space can become something special.
Speeches followed - funny, emotional, and perfectly tailored to Kayleigh and Peter. Laughter filled the room, and the bright daylight spilling onto the balcony gave everyone a chance to mingle, breathe, and enjoy the moment. Guests chatted, kids ran free, and I may have taken advantage of the light for some unexpected, candid shots (including the classic “camera-shy guest” challenge - accepted!).
Dancing, Celebration & Pure Joy
As the evening unfolded, it was time for cake cutting, first dance, and then… chaos in the best way. The dancefloor filled instantly. Guests danced, the couple mingled, selfies were taken, and the energy never dipped. It was joyful, relaxed, and completely unapologetic fun.
Kayleigh and Peter’s wedding was proof that when you plan a day around what feels right, it becomes unforgettable. Three locations, one seamless story - and an absolute pleasure to document from start to finish.
