A Stunning Start to 2024: Gabi & Clark’s Wedding
What a way to kick off the wedding season! My first wedding of 2024 was nothing short of spectacular, filled with love, laughter, and plenty of moments that will be cherished forever. Gabi and Clark’s special day was an absolute dream to photograph, and I’m so excited to share some highlights with you.
The Prep
It all started with a Facebook message from Gabi, enquiring about my wedding photography services. After a lovely chat, we signed the contract, and the countdown to their big day began! I met Gabi in person for the first time on her wedding day, and she was every bit as warm and wonderful as I’d imagined. She wasn’t camera-shy at all, which made capturing her and her family during their morning prep a delight.
The Unicorn Inn, just 10 minutes from the venue, was the perfect setting for their preparations. This cosy spot was brimming with character—mirrors galore, vintage-style puffs and chairs, and a flood of natural light that created the warmest atmosphere. I couldn’t help but think how ideal it was for creating intimate and family-centred getting-ready moments.
The Trinity
The wedding itself took place at The Trinity in Burton on Trent, and wow—what an incredible venue! This converted church maintained its original charm with vaulted ceilings, stunning stained glass, and even the original altar. It was both elegant and unique, a truly magical backdrop for their day.
The Trinity staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, making everything run smoothly. With both the ceremony and reception held on-site, it eliminated the stress of guests traveling between venues—a definite win in my book! After the heartfelt ceremony and a flurry of confetti, guests enjoyed celebratory drinks while the couple mingled and we snuck outside for some golden-hour photos in the warm April sunshine.
The Reception
The reception was a feast for the senses, quite literally! Hosted by outside caterers, the buffet-style meal was cooked on-site, filling the air with mouth-watering aromas. Heartfelt and humorous speeches followed, providing plenty of candid moments for my camera.
Gabi and Clark graced the dance floor for their first dance, and let’s not forget the cake! It was as stunning as it was delicious, a truly magical moment to cap off an unforgettable day.
